Partner in Maine’s Visitor Research

Participate in Maine’s Visitor Research Program

Support statewide research and receive valuable insights about your visitors

The Maine Office of Tourism (MOT) is seeking tourism partners across the state to participate in its ongoing Visitor Tracking and Research Program. This statewide research initiative helps inform MOT’s long-term planning, strategic priorities, communications, and future goals.

The program is conducted on behalf of the Maine Office of Tourism by Downs & St. Germain (DSG), our tourism research partner. There are three ways to participate:

Send a short survey invitation email to your guests from the past season. DSG will provide a ready-to-send email, all you need to do is forward it to your guest list.

If it is easier, you can share your guest email list with DSG and they will handle all outreach directly.

Allow DSG to have an interviewer come to your property and conduct surveys with your guests a couple of times a week to collect data in person. Visitors who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $250 gift card each month, so there is an incentive for your guests as well.

What Participating Partners Receive

Every partner that helps to distribute the survey will receive a complimentary report containing only the data from their own guests. Your report will be provided at no cost and will not be shared with any other businesses or organizations.
