VisitMaine.com is all about helping travelers discover what makes Maine unique. Check out the guidelines below to make sure your event qualifies before submitting it for consideration.

What to Know Before You Submit

Submitted events require approval by the Maine Office of Tourism (MOT) team. If approved, events will be posted to the VisitMaine.com event calendar and remain live until the event date has passed. Please note that events submitted using this online form do not allow edits after submission. For changes or corrections, contact Christine Rosen at [email protected] or 207-592-6251. If your event is denied, the content will be removed from the system. To resubmit, you’ll need to restart the form and re-enter all details.

Criteria for Events

VisitMaine.com welcomes a wide range of events that reflect the spirit and culture of Maine, helping visitors experience Maine like a local. This includes everything from large, well-known, and beloved events to smaller community events such as farmers markets, festivals, and live music, as well as cultural experiences like workshops and historical talks.

We ask that events meet the following criteria:

🎯 Audience: Events must appeal to a substantial majority of visitors to Maine.

📍 Location: The event must take place in Maine.

Duration: Events must be no longer than two weeks.

Distinct & Non-Recurring: Events must be special or unique – clearly different from your regular offerings – and may not be part of a recurring schedule (e.g., weekly classes, monthly tours).

🗓️ Series Submission: If your event spans multiple dates, combine them into a single event listing with multiple date ranges, rather than submitting each date as a separate event.
